What It Feels Like To Be Seen By The Right People

Just over a year ago, I ran into an old friend at the shopping centre.
Someone I’d only met a handful of times. We stopped to have a little chat, you know…the kind of brief, polite conversation you expect in passing. Someone I’d only met a few times. She asked me how I’d been, what I was working on, how my job was and even mentioned my business I’d started years ago around the time I met her.
It caught me off guard. I’ve known people for years who never asked me those questions. People who never really saw me beyond the surface. But here was someone I barely knew, remembering the small details from a casual conversation years ago.
And in that simple, but fleeting moment, I realised how rarely I felt truly seen. I realised how I had become so used to being overlooked.
To being in spaces where my dreams were met with silence.Where the conversation changed when I spoke about something meaningful.Where no one followed up when something beautiful unfolded in my life.
It wasn’t that those people were unkind. It was that they weren’t my people.
And I had grown so accustomed to being unseen that genuine care actually surprised me. That small interaction reminded me that being seen isn’t about being loud, impressive, or proving your worth. It’s about being in the right spaces. The ones that recognise your energy without you needing to explain or justify it.
So many of us stay seated at tables where our light isn’t truly valued. We pour ourselves in. We soften. We wait. Hoping that one day someone will finally notice. But sometimes, the bravest thing we can do is quietly step away from that table.
It doesn’t have to be with anger or blame. Just with trust. Trust that there are rooms where your presence is naturally welcomed. Where you don’t have to shrink, translate, or over-give to belong. When you pull your energy back from spaces that drain you, you create room for alignment. For the right people, opportunities and connections that genuinely see you.
You were never too much. You were never asking for too much. You were simply sitting at the wrong table. And when you begin to honour your energy, you start attracting reflections of the love, care, and depth you’ve always offered others.
If you’ve been feeling unseen, disconnected, or unsure where you belong…I see you. Through my Reiki and holistic coaching sessions, I support women in reconnecting with their energy, realigning with their worth and remembering who they truly are beneath the noise.
You’re invited to explore my 1:1 sessions or healing offerings and find the space that feels like home to your nervous system and your soul.
You deserve to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Not for what you do, but for who you are.
