How to Let Go of What You Can't Control (Without Giving Up Hope)

Lately, I've been thinking about how easy it is to believe that if we just do more, things will finally fall into place.
Another affirmation.Another manifestation ritual.Another meditation.Another journal prompt.
We convince ourselves that maybe we're the missing piece. That if we heal a little more, think more positively, or become a better version of ourselves, life will finally begin moving.
And when nothing changes...
It's so easy to turn inward and wonder, What's wrong with me? Why isn't this working?
If you've ever felt that way, you're not alone.
I believe our thoughts, intentions and the energy we bring into the world matter. But I also believe we're human. We aren't meant to control every outcome.
We're co-creators of our lives, not the authors of every single chapter.
Sometimes the job isn't to force the next door open. Sometimes it's to keep becoming the person we're meant to be while trusting that life is quietly arranging pieces we can't yet see.
Last week we spoke about anger and frustration when life doesn't unfold the way we'd hoped. Those feelings are real and they deserve space.
Acceptance doesn't mean pretending everything is okay.
It means allowing yourself to feel the disappointment, the grief, the frustration or the anger…without letting those emotions become your permanent home.
Healing isn't about never feeling difficult emotions.
It's about feeling them fully... and then gently putting them down when they're no longer yours to carry.
I've also realised that healing rarely looks like a straight line.
Sometimes it's one step forward. One step back. Two steps forward.Three steps back.
It can feel messy and frustrating, but it's still movement.
Every experience is shaping you, even the ones that feel like detours.
Maybe this season isn't asking you to have all the answers.
Maybe it's simply asking you to trust that there is a bigger picture unfolding beyond what you can see right now.
This week, instead of asking, Why isn't this happening yet?
Try asking,
What is still within my control today?
Maybe it's how kindly you speak to yourself.
Maybe it's choosing rest instead of forcing.
Maybe it's taking one small step, even if the destination still feels uncertain.
Everything else...
Perhaps that can belong to the universe for a little while.
With Love,
Sonia xx
